Rebecca Houpe is the Agency president and started the Ancient City Insurance in 2003. She is Licensed in Property and Casualty, Life and Health, and has recently earned her Associate In Insurance Services Designation. Her experience and commitment to continuing education enables her to fully understand the unique needs of Florida residents.

Stephanie K. Smith

Commercial Insurance Manager


Stephanie Smith joined our team in 2013 and became a partner in 2017. She comes to us with over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, having a background in both Personal and Business Insurance. Her strengths include analyzing an insured’s insurance needs and matching needs to the appropriate insurance products and coverage. Stephanie is approachable and professional, and she gives her clients dependable, honest advice.

Barbara Rickards

Account Manager


Barbara Rickards, ACSR has over 25 years experience in the insurance industry . She is a Licensed Customer Service Representative and specializes in Commercial/Business Service and Renewals. Barbara served in the Marine Corps and has been a resident of St. Augustine since 1977.

Donna Nicely

Account Manager


Donna Nicely recently joined Ancient City Insurance support staff with 12 years prior experience in the Title Insurance Industry. Relocated to St Augustine from Montana in 2017, where she worked for Lincoln County Court House as Survey, Land Records Deputy.

Melissa McRoberts

Account Manager


Melissa McRoberts is a Personal Lines Account Manager. She is licensed in Property and Casualty with over 15 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Melissa graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management. She has lived in St. Augustine almost all her life and prides herself on building long-term relationships and providing excellent customer service to her clients. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband and 4 boys.

Lindsey Kelley

Account Manager


Lindsey joined our team in 2018 and is currently one of our licensed insurance account managers. She has a Bachelors degree in Finance as well as Managerial Economics from Central Washington University. Lindsey co-founded Swamp Haven, a local dog rescue, in 2015 and continues to support families and and homeless dogs by showing our community what it looks like to "adopt happiness".

Jon Simone

Account Manager


Jon started his career in insurance with Ancient City Insurance in 2017. He recently completed his Florida 4-40 license as a customer representative. He specializes in account servicing for commercial clients and is our agency Account Administrator. His duties include policy processing, billing, and administration.

Brandon Golz

Account Manager


Brandon has over 3 years of experience working with personal insurance as an Account Manager. His background includes a variety of coverages from homeowners, personal automobile, and specialty lines of business. Brandon also has experience in working with agency administrative and IT technology services. Brandon has his Florida 4-40 license as a resident customer representative for our agency and is a Personal Lines Account Manager.
